A little about Nuuk

Hotel Nordbo and Hotel Nordbo City are located in Nuuk, which is the capital of Greenland and the political center of Greenland's largest municipality, Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq.

The city was founded as the city of Godthåb by the Norwegian missionary Hans Egede in the year 1728 and is thus Greenland's oldest city. Today, the city has almost 20.000 inhabitants, a quarter of whom are immigrants from other countries.

Nuuk means the headland and is located at the mouth of Godthåbsfjorden on the west coast of Greenland, 240 km south of the Arctic Circle. The climate is low arctic with an average temperature of seven degrees in July and minus eight degrees Celsius in January.

If you want to ski, Nuuk offers both an extensive network of trails across almost the entire city and the surrounding countryside for cross-country skiing, and by the airport there is an alpine area with a ski lift and slopes.
